Ian Tolley is a specialist in nursery production technology, orchard planning, and management, a horticultural generalist, with an intensive, practical approach, together with a broad-scale overview. Early professional training in Civil Engineering and Surveying provided a sound base for consultancy planning. He is widely recognised for his applied irrigation and general technological innovation. together with introduction of mechanization to nurseries and orchards.

Ian has been involved in Australian and International consultancy over the past 45 years. International consultancies include: USA (Florida and California); South Africa; Fiji; Indonesia; Malaysian States including Terranganu. With GTZ (German Aid Group) working Government to Government, as Lead Consultant, Ian headed planning for several terms, to restructure citrus industries of Thailand and Egypt.

He regularly exchanges propogation technical information, lectures on production and technical aspects of horticulture, is a prolific writer and regular ABC commentator on gardening and trees.

 

An entrepreneurial business-woman, Noelle travels extensively with Ian on consultancies, and to international horticultural congresses. She has a broad worldwide knowledge of the citrus industry and is experienced in time/motion management, of a large citrus container nursery.
Between 1974-1986 Noelle organised the importation, and Australia-wide sales network for the first Power Picking Ladders to come into Australian orchards.
Noelle heads the company division of citrus seed sales and export, and imports quality hand tools for pruning, grafting, and budding, for orchardists, nurserymen and gardeners.

Under Tolley's KUMQUATERY brand, Noelle is expanding an Australia-wide gourmet food niche market for her production of specialist candied Kumquats.

A free-lance journalist, historian, and author, her first novel "In Looking Glass Land" provides an insight and amusing view of experiences of women in the 1880's, arriving at the newest Irrigation Colony of Renmark, on the River Murray.
